Our Story
Blake and Carmen are proud to be dairy farmers living in upstate New York, growing food to help feed people everywhere. Their love for animals, nature and the simplicity of country life is evident in how they live their lives.
Blake was raised on a farm working in the fields and milking cows up until he left for college. His passion has always been farming. He knew one day he would return to raise his own family surrounded by the nurturing nature of the farm.
Carmen was an immigrant from Cuba raised in New York City with her family from the age of two. Her parents taught her that if you work hard, anything is possible. Together Blake and Carmen decided to return to Blake’s hometown and expand the family farm with Blake’s parents.
This partnership created Twin Mill Farms, a 400+ cow/1000 acre dairy farm where their cows’ milk goes towards producing the award winning Cabot cheese. Cabot Creamery produces all natural, award-winning cheeses. Blake was elected as a Board of Director at Cabot Creamery, a 1200+ farm family dairy cooperative with members throughout New England and upstate New York.
Carmen and Blake are co-founders of the Jules of Life Foundation, a local charity that supports families with children diagnosed with pediatric cancer. The Jules of Life Foundation has become the main informational and financial resource for families in St. Lawrence County.
Carmen decided to follow her passion and become a NYS licensed Esthetician. She worked hard, and with Blake’s help they opened a day spa in Canton, NY called Glow Skincare and Spa. Together they decided that the next step would be to combine both of their expertise in farming and skin care and create A Wholesome Glow.
Blake and Carmen have three active, beautiful boys named Miles, Truman and Noah. They are three lucky boys who enjoy running on stacks of round bales, growing pumpkins to sell at their road-side stand, zip lining into their grandparents pond, chasing their goats, milking cows, and playing soccer in the summer.
